Our #SayNoToAntisemitism campaign has been named ‘Community Project of the Year’ at the 2019 London Football Awards this evening!

CHELSEA CLUB CAMPAIGN WINS PRESTIGIOUS AWARD FACEBOOK TWITTER Our ‘Say No To Antisemitism’ campaign was honoured at the London Football Awards 2019 at Battersea Evolution on Thursday night. At the event, which celebrates the very best of London football, the campaign  which was launched in January 2018  won the Community Project of the Year prize. The long-term initiative forms part of our on-going inclusion work, through the Chelsea Foundation’s Building Bridges campaign. The initiative is supported by the club’s owner Roman Abramovich. The judging panel thought that the campaign was very powerful, unique and clearly demonstrated the club’s commitment to tackling discrimination, in particular antisemitism. ‘It is a project that is not just a week long or a month long,’ said Chelsea Chairman Bruce Buck at the Awards. ‘We have been doing this for a year and there is no end in sight because this is the kind of thing where moving the needle is very di...

Arranged via the Chelsea Foundation, the Chelsea supporters were invited to see the men’s first-team squad put through their paces on the morning after our FA Cup win over Sheffield Wednesday. The fans and their families watched the players train before meeting them afterwards for pictures and autographs, with David Luiz and Eden Hazard among those the fans were most excited to meet. Among those to spend time with our special visitors was midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who said: ‘It’s great to take some time out and give back to the community – it’s very important to make sure we do these things. ‘You just have to look at the smiles on the children’s face to see how much it mea...

WILLY CABALLERO REVEALS WHAT IT WAS LIKE TO BE SELECTED AGAINST TOTTENHAM FACEBOOK TWITTER Having been brought into the side for last night’s win over Tottenham at Stamford Bridge, Willy Caballero praised the Chelsea team for the efforts at both ends of the pitch after we came out on top in the London derby. The opener, scored by Pedro early in the second half, was followed by a Kieran Trippier own-goal late on as we got back to winning ways in the Premier League and closed the gap on Mauricio Pochettino’s side. For Caballero, chosen to start ahead of Kepa Arrizabalaga, it was a fairly comfortable evening as the visitors failed to record a single shot on target, but the Argentinian was delighted to play his part in an important win. ‘After this victory, of course every supporter of Chelsea, every player and every part of the club is going to be happy,’ said the goalkeeper. ‘The atmosphere was amazing and we needed to win. We did it pretty well, we defended ...
